what is live wedding painting?
Live painting is a form of on site painting used to capture a special moment during a wedding ceremony or reception.. A professional live painter brings his or her own canvas and art supplies to paint a scene in real-time at the wedding. It is a unique and charming addition to your wedding day that is growing in popularity. While it gives the wedding guests something different to enjoy during the wedding, it also gives you a cherished wedding heirloom to commemorate your wedding day.
How does it work?
Contact me to schedule your live wedding consultation and we will go over different options for a scene that you would like captured during your wedding day. Once we agree upon a vision for your wedding painting, I will arrive at the venue about an hour to 2 hours before your wedding begins to set up. The painting will be done live for the wedding guest to watch and enjoy as entertainment. On average, I will be at your event painting for about 6-8 hours. Although much of the painting will be done from live observation, I also take my own photographs during the event to paint from both during the event and afterwards in my studio to touch up.
Will my painting be finished the night of my wedding?
There are many different styles of live wedding painters. While some wedding painters may create a more impressionistic piece of art that can be finished in one night, I paint fairly realistically and therefore, I will need to bring the piece back to my studio to fine tune some of the details using photographs I take during the event. I also work in oil paints, which can take days to dry. In general, the finished painting will be available 2 to 3 months after your wedding.
